Eta Carinae as you don't see it very often.

Just over one hour of total LRGB data, including just over 190 luminance subs, all at 10 secs each.

when I took these images it was terribly windy, so I resorted to using native gain (139) and very short subs. I think it worked, at least to maximise the detail considering the gusty conditions. Very surprised at the details achieved at the short exposure lengths. Guess it has to be the good contrasty skies we have. Even more surprised at the variety of hues in this region, and no I didn't get out the colour enhancement stick. It was just a good stretch and saturation increase, voila.

Anyway, hope you like it.

Sticking with the program is good...but...the colour is very weird. Is this an interpretive image?

No Peter. It's what came out, I benchmarked against a few other rgb versions and found a surprising variety of looks. I guess we will only know when we get there

Some nice details and I don't mind the varying colour hues Simon :confuse3:. There looks to be some focus issue on the right side, image plane tilt..?

Actually, short exposure lengths like that often helps with details.

Looks pretty cool, different

Christmas Carina?

Not sure what marked benches you looked at. :)....but the area surrounding the keyhole is not blue. Did you flat-field for each filter?

You might want to work on the focus as well..not quite nailed as brighter stars in your rendition have double diffraction spikes and dimmer ones at the edges look like little doughnuts instead of points.

The Eta Carina nebula is a remarkable and popular target. If you look up images of it by Malin or even Wiki you'll get good appreciation of the colour.

Some good details in the center and the left of the fov, definitely out of focus on the right so you might have some camera tilt. Groovy colors. I would have thought it was some kind of NB palette if you didn't mention LRGB. You sure you've got your colors in the right channels?
