Tripod suggestions

Looking to purchase a portable tripod for my Canon DSLR to take wide angle shots of the night sky, and to use for my bino. Any suggestions?

You could try a Manfrotto 055 Model (although there are many other models) fitted with a Manfrotto 501 pan/tilt fluid head or for a slightly lighther load a 701 head.

Thanks. Budget is about $250 max. In terms of features, portability is very important.
