What's the best way to rid the hot pixels off the image. Apart from buying a cooled camera  the old dslr is running about 30 deg atm.

Either enable in camera long exposure noise reduction and in camera high ISO noise reduction, in which case the camera will take a dark after each exposure, or take some darks yourself at the end of the imaging session, and stack them with your normal subs[ assuming that you are using RAW, as you cannot use darks with JPEGs.]

If you're using PixInsight then it has a module (Cosmetic Correction) to remove hot pixels.

If you use photoshop, the spot healing tool works great on hot pixels.

Dark subtraction will take care of most, then a defect map. Read on calibration frames.

I use star tools, here's a bit of pre processing. I've had this pink haze before
thats thermal noise, in camera long exposure noise reduction is for removing that.
