Yes draw the line and develop something peaceful and that reminds me there is more to life than worrying about "stuff"..
I dont know that I should put this here but it is my attempt to change certain behaviours:D to stop focussing on the negative and to focus on the positive:thumbsup: . I hope it encourages others to share their work... I have not got any works of folk doing what we all like to do.assemble and disassemble astro gear    . maybe you have?
Its sortta astronomy related two drawings one of someone ( not me) at the eye piece and a portrait of my daughter done whilst I explain gravity rain once more;) .

Thank you very much for the encouragement:) .
Everyone can draw, trust me on that, but like many things we cant give it in when on our first attempt we dont produce a master piece;) .
So if you dont believe you can change that to I can and have a go and enjoy the peace it can bring to a cluttered day.
I had hoped to draw some other art expression particularly leaning towards an astronomy theme.
Thanks again
alex

Phil they are wonderful:thumbsup:   , I love to paint also.
I have a variety of styles some take ages some a matter of minutes really.
Dont worry if they go onto walls such fine work should be shared and I am very happy that I started this thread so you came forward to share your brillance.
Mike you gotta believe you can and try it as I said before we all can and you must see that whatever you produce is indeed art. Visit the National Art Gallery in Canberra if you want to gain confidence in your hidden abilities not hard to match much of the fine works displayed there.. something comes out.
The stuff of mine I find the most interesting is the portraits that are sortta ugly as they hold interest ..so give it a go.. draw your shed it will help to put it there..and good news sortta .. I am onto a shed ..the wife wants it to go and is going to work on the husband ..she hates it and wants it out of there ..but if not that one I have a lot of people looking for one you. You do your part and look out there and see it siting where you want it... very important to see it ther and to draw it as well.

Netwolf and Leon the talents that are displayed are not hidden those that are hidden are those that we hide from ourselves:eyepop: ...trust me I am a positive thinker and believer;) :D .

We all have a creative side !
As Alex said we often just hide it from ourselves for fear of Failure, or we get too "Busy".
Most of us here are only too keen to display the Art of the Universe to all those that will look & Listen. (so we have an artistic side anyhow)
Mike's Photo Art is awesome (there is definately an Artist lurking in there Mike !)
Phil & Alex, I am very impressed with your Artwork.
Me, I love to sing :P , yes and in Public, sometimes with a band :eyepop:
I recently (to my great surprise) wrote my first song & am having the music written to go with it ATM.
By IISAC 2008, i might even have practiced it enough to perform

WOW Phil. Marvelous!
Any time you guys want to hang anything in our Art Gallery, let us know.
We are hoping to shift the whole building soon, to become part of a Settlers Village. It'll be on the main drag then, with lots and lots of passing trade.

Thank you that is a wonderful compliment for my part as I have never considered such. I was going to do the street walk thing more as to be a part of the city not simply a visitor when in Sydney.. and meet people have a chat not so much a dollar enterprise , but I can see myself as one of the characters sitting there turning out master pieces at $10 each to pay for the materials and give someone something that they enjoy.
Let me work up to that I really appreciate your offer. I would love to see your gallery and indeed meet in person.. I still have to make it to a star party someplace.

LOLOLOL
That is exactly our attitude when we have our Christmas or Mothers Day art sales.
Some of our members are very prolific with their painting. Their newest work is on the walls priced in the hundreds, and it sells. But for the sales, all the older paintings come out of storage and are sold to cover costs. Anything from $10 -$50.
Can you guess what all my family got for Christmas?

Great stuff Alex and Phil
Phil, you must have a lot of patience for the detail in your painting, certainly more than me :)
I used to dabble in oil painting a few (>10) years ago. Since it is a bit of a show and tell, here is an oil painting I did that is hanging in the loungeroom. Excuse the oblique view, but it is behind glass in the frame and I didn't want the flash shining back at me. I think I might get back into this soon, though I am sure all my paints are cactus by now. Most of my other paintings I have given away to family and friends.

Andrew I missed your post. Excellent work thanks for sharing with the team.
I was an oil painter but I have picked up on acrylic paint. I was negative about it but must say I find it very good to work with and it goes such a long way. I do more now because it is not expensive whereas oils seemed not to go as far..as a result I am splash it around and re do stuff.. I have one that has so far 5 layers ..it is my first in that medium and was a test bed so I did my worst with it and it has handled the abuse.
I encourage you to start into it again..gotto do something on those cloudy nights eh.
alex
hear are some other paintings

Wow!
I love the paintings!!!!
I always wanted to paint but ALWAYS made a mess of it.
I prefer to sketch. Here are some of my sketches:
1. Me
2. Whirlpool Galaxy (inverted)
3. Tarantula Neb (inverted)
4. My son Jake
(sorry about the quality, I took the photos with my Kodak Pocket camera and it isn't any good at close-ups.)

really beautiful - all the work on this post.
alex agree totally - first attempts can often dampen the spirits when things don't turn out as hoped. My initial attempts at Astrophotos around 10 years ago are an example as well as my kak handed oil painting more recently.
I would love to make a bass guitar from scratch - how are forum members woodworking and craft skills? Let's take a look at those and expand the post!
All the best.
Loved this thread
Doug
Some very talented people on this site, excellent work by all.
