The small chip in the 314L+ not do justice to the Rosette nebula, but that's what I have... for now :D

80ED, Astrodon NB filters, 50min/channel 5min subs
Guiding was awful, have to readjust the worm or something

Cheers,
Mick

:eyepop: Certainly very colorful. Guiding looks alright to me but I reckon you were a bit heavy handed with the noise reduction. Some of the details have become a little blooby in the dark pilars.

Yes, thanks Marc

Not enough data, so I did tried to make it a bit better than what it is.

Last night just collected 5h/20min subs of Ha ... looks much better. All I need now 2 more nights like that for SII and OIII :)

Cool - that's the way to go. Way cooler down your end atm so it will be easier. It's an oven here.

Nope.... For the 5h Ha, all I could managed from the Atik's cooler is -1deg on the chip. Ambient was 28deg (37deg daytime) and concrete around me radiated the heat back.

When I took the older pic, the chip was -10deg :eyepop:

Still, I'm happy just to have a chance :D ... back to work next week

Next week will probably rain so not a loss. You should look into QHY. My old QHY9 mono is regulated and I set it to -20c whole year round. The hottest I imaged with lately was ~26c and I was using ~45% of TEC power to maintain -20c inside the chamber. They cool remarkably well and are good value.

I'm keep looking at the 8300 CCDs ... certainly has more FOV
Not sure which one... ATIK, QHY etc. or switch to CMOS ZWO's 1600MM ... I just need to save the $$$ first :(

The colour version makes me suspect you failed the Ishihara test :)

But the h-alpha data looks very promising

Thanks guys,

"The colour version makes me suspect you failed the Ishihara test :)"

:thumbsup: yes, lack of PS skill make me use Annie's PS script for narrow-band processing. Not working well for channel alignment (not sure what I do wrong) and I 'played' with colour too much.

Yet to find a good workflow to learn and do it manually.

Cheers for help everyone :thanx:
