Just gathered all the Ha subs I had on this one with the CN-212 and so far I managed 27x300s so nearly 2.5 hour. Still quite noisy and I can't do much with the data at this stage but some really nice details coming through.
Core crop with better SNR is 1:1, full field HD here (http://www.astropic.net/astro/NGC2270_Ha_CN-212_HD.jpg).
Will clock some more when heat subside and clear weather resumes.

Thanks guys. The fov looks good so I reckon it will make a nice pic in the end.

That's really sharp and detailed.
300 seconds is a very short exposure for Ha. That may be hampering getting rid of noise. Dithering if you aren't already doing that, also helps a lot lowering noise in Ha.

Thanks Greg. Yeah I'm usually always dithering but lately with my mount problems I had to stay as close to the guidestar as I could for how long as it would permit, only briefly pausing the guider to download the subs. I've just received the new worm couplings so once I've serviced the mount I'll be back in business. More than 5min on this and I think I'd burn the stars in the central cluster. There's a lot of them, they're tightly packed and difficult to separate.

Exquisite detail. Every tiny cluster star clearly shown, and the nebulosity is sculptural, three-dimensional, subtly done.

Thanks Rick. Does it have enough cobweb to qualify for IOTW? :P

More than enough, I reckon :)

That's true those central stars are very massive.
I dither using Sky X but I think it costs me sometimes. I don't get all the images taken that I programmed. I think sometimes it takes a long time to move and settle. Perhaps my settings need to be tweaked and less sensitive.
Good luck with the new worm. Worms can make a huge difference to guiding accuracy as I discovered with a PMX mount.
Greg.

That's the plan.
I didn't change the worms but the way they are coupled to the gearboxes. It's done now and I'll see what happens next time I set up.
