Night Sky Magazine No More...

Although this news is a bit dated, I understand that Night Sky Magazine will no longer be published after the next issue.

I beleive that the last issue is shipping soon.

I am saddened at the loss of this good "introductory" publication to astronomy...it was written in a style that I enjoyed reading and could and did share with my kids. I actually have been donating my old magazines to my kids school library...the librarian and some the kids interested in Astronomy did too (so I am told).

Yes, there are still several good astronomy magazines available and I suscribe to most all of them...but, I will miss this one. Just for the record, I also donate them to the school too after I am done with them. I'd like to think that they will inspire someone else to go into the hobby...

My boys like the 'Night Sky' mag. They feel as if it is written for them.

yeh I subscribed to Night Sky when I first started in Astronomy - like you said, a good introductory tone and good articles for the beginner.

I can understand the reasoning though, declining sales and a reasonable small market. It is a shame though, cause it's likely to mean we'll never see a similar publication again.
