This combines everything I could find and even trimmed down to the best captures it came in around 500 at between 30 and 35 seconds...all filters went in the one stack which is wrong but I wanted to see what that would do....deep sky stacker then startools then coloured in photos shop and a few small things in gimp...it was a lot better probably an hour ago but you know how you just keep going and stuff what you should have left be.

It looked not too bad on the lappy but it probably will look crook here...that happens cause I get a breather and it never looks like it looked when I finished.

Plus I thought I would try a different colour approach.
Also what I did do was a separate little stack for the core and although I did brighten the trap using the dodge tool it was there and well defined...I could have left it but I wanted it to stand out.

Alex
Superb image , incredible detail , great colour, tack sharp stars, love the diffraction spikes , clean clear trapezium
What more can I say !!
Was this your GSO 8” f5 with the cooled ZWO camera ?
If so , can’t wait to get mine early next year and get out there
Sounds like heaps and heaps of short subs does the trick
Cheers

Hi Martin
Thank you for your kind words.
Yes the good old gso 8 inch still untouched ..no adjustement same as it left the factory...has a coma corrector but not happy with position but as the shots were fair I went for captutes rather than adjusting anything.
It has four tube rings cause the tube is not flash not as good as a tin can really..that needs attention but foir tube rings was useful I thought.
Yes zwo camera and as my mount played up (again) this yrip I went short exposures and it is getting such that I may go short even when the mount is working☺
And startools makes a huge difference and then photoshop.
Funny thing as I said I am not doing individual cours etc because the data is not worth yrying teal hard so I stack everything...thecoriginal idea and well still is is to build a luminance with luminance and whatever else laying around.
I only did these to build a luminace so I could add to it later but things sortta got outta hand☺
It is all still practice really.

One thing...now just looking at the first attempt at focus tells me if its worth going on...many of these were sharp as...if the seeing is not perfect its hardley worth it really.

Looks great Alex, the detail and the yellow to pink colour.

Thanks Tony and thanks Col.
I hope that my shots establish that its not that difficult to get some pretty photos.
I like the "art work" idea as that gives me opportunity to produce stuff without concerns to replicate reality☺.

The subtle gold to pink tones are especially pleasing to my eye (might look nice on a wall poster). I like these better than the intense colour versions.

Nice sharp stars Alex...diffraction is a pretty thing!
Unusual colour too ..NOT Too bright either..and you didn't blow out the core as some do..can see trap clearly..NO sunglasses required for viewing this one!

Thanks to all for the encouragement and not being critical of my approach to colour☺.
Here is another which I like but the colour may not be what folk like.

Once you get into artistic expression it's all in the eye of the beholder - gold/pink still my favourite :)
