I didn’t have my AP rig with me down the coast only my Skywatcher 12” GoTo Dob so I snapped this image of the Moon holding my iPhone against an 8mm Ethos eye piece
Terminator cutting through Mare Imbrium with the Apennine and Caucasus mountain ranges and notable craters Archimedes, Eratosthenes and Plato
Also the Apollo 15 landing site between the two mountain ranges

Thanks Raymo
Nothing wrong with lunar imaging, we don’t see enough of it on IIS
We should have a “Lunarthon”one month next year
Any votes for that ??

I saw this on Imgur and asked @LaughingSouls to send it to the large astronomy list that they took over from @GBMaker!

Its just a phone they say but go back 20 years and see if there are any shots that come close.
I like Moon stuff I used to do a lot a decade or more ago...I like putting them in photoshop and coloiring them up up and in negative they look so cool.

I like the iPhone because I can use my delos and ethos eye pieces with my powermates and get down real close to the lunar terrain ( say up to 350 x mag) with reasonable focus and sharpness
My DSLR with powermates wont get as close to the terrain as through the eye pieces
I need to buy an iPhone holder attachment for my big goto dob as its really hard to frame and focus holding the iPhone in the right spot
Really enjoy imaging the moon early to mid phase during both waxing and waning , especially near the terminator

Why don't you use eyepiece projection with your DSLR, my shot that started
this lunar conversation off, and the other two I posted a couple of days ago
[that nobody took any notice of] were taken that way.
