Nice and clean! It's a bit black clipped, i reckon you can get more detail out of it if you restretch it keeping an eye on the histogram.

Yes Tony, I realise it is clipped; I was trying to get a bit more contrast to highlight the flame and horse areas. I have uploaded another version.

So much details from such short subs, whats your secret?

It gives us beginners/less fancy equipped punters something to aim for.

Raymo that is fantastic.
Inspirational.
I tried for a similar shot first night up here and took over an hour and no horse head..bit wet but I really wanted to get a wide field like yours.

Nicely done Raymo, looks like you've had some success with your polar alignment too! Your 100mm lens is getting quite a workout. I pulled out my Nano Tracker for a go at comet Wirtanen 46p last night but the gibbous moon and light pollution ruined any chance of getting a good shot but at least we can carry our rig around with one hand! ;)

Chris,
no secrets; reasonably good sky [Bortle 3], my gear couldn't be more
basic, the cheapest smallest tracker available, a camera tripod, and an
unmodded 600D, oh, and an intervalometer.[$20]. No separate darks, flats,
biases etc: just JPEGs and stacked and processed in DSS.

Thanks Alex; you're going great guns by the way.

A bit of an improvement Michael, gone back to inclinometer and compass.

Thanks Ryan, keep up the good work, your imaging is coming along well.
