The preschool did an astro-week recently (not anyone in particulars suggestion ), and this is what my daughter did - the "Matchelagic Cloud"

I'd shown her the LMC in the Mak and she remembered this and did it at school. I was chuffed

What a wonderful piece!

I find it fascinating how kids both interpret in their minds what they see free from any prejudices, and how they then translate this with the media they are provided with and their own skill set. I find these "simple" pieces a source of inspiration as often kids stumble upon a technique that is very effective. This can be how they rendered something to develop form, a detail, decoration, design, or even an entire concept. Most times it is totally unabashed joy and energy, no right or wrong. Joyous & inspirational stuff! :D :D

Nah, i ain't going no where! Instead I'm going to plagiarize her work as any good Gen X'er will do!:evil::evil:

Massey!

Excellent! I seem to recall a young Australian girl who has has gallery exhibitions in New York of her 'modern art' interpretations. Perhaps Dad can retire soon.

That's awesome Lewis - you must be very proud. I feel it is very important to show kids the wonders of the nightsky and to inspire young creative minds.

Also, for the record, I second what Mike said :P
