Used Vixen Super Polaris classic german equatorial mount with matching timber tripod. I added the Synscan EQ5 goto upgrade kit a year or two ago but have hardly used it due to priorities elsewhere. These Japan made Vixen polaris mounts have excellent native tracking (well made gears) and set the original standard for the Chinese mounts to copy (mostly poorly). The goto kit adds the convenience of auto guiding, stepper motors, PEC and connection to your PC. The Synscan EQ5 goto upgrade kit alone retails for over $800 new. The upgraded mount slews and tracks nicely. Would make a great portable mount for wide field imaging.
The mount also includes two counterweights. The mount saddle will require the addition of tube rings or a dovetail saddle to suit your OTA. A Vixen style dovetail that came with the mount is included, as are the original motors. The mount and tripod is in average cosmetic condition consistent with its age, with some paint chips and corrosion in places. Powered it up today - all working fine.
Selling because I just haven't been using it.
Would prefer pickup, as this is relatively heavy and bulky. But will consider shipping at buyers expense with PackSend.
