Taken with my Canon 600D and Evostar 72ED scope from Kurrajong.
Naked eye. Mag about 5. Lovely in binoculars. Big and diffuse.
Weather and waxing moon will not help viewing this week.

NICE WORK Richard..EERIE!..LOVE that lil scope..when Im too lazy to pick up the big ones, this goes on a small go to..cracks doubles to 1.7" viz.. amazing Eta Orionis!

But there's something I don't get - how come the brighter stars have a diffraction pattern around them when you've used a refractor?

Hi Alex,

I put in the spikes with a plug-in in photoshop as an effect. I get spikes normally with the Newtonian. I just like their appearance.
