A couple of well known objects which I haven't really imaged before (I did a short unguided capture of M42 when just starting out but have never attempted M45 before).

Last weekend I finally managed to set up the MN190 that I purchased from Glen back in October. As expected it wouldn't quite come to focus with the DSLR (and I didn't want to swap spacer plates via torchlight) so I observed a few objects with the Delos 14mm and late in the night pressed it into service as a guidescope (:screwy:) whilst grabbing a couple of quick images through the AT 65mm EDQ.

Processing on these definitely falls into the quick-and-dirty category as I've recently moved house and haven't even set up the big monitor yet.

Roughly 30 minutes on M42/43 and 45 minutes on M45 :P with the modded Pentax K-5iis.

I had some weird, stray-light artefacts on the Orion image which I can only guess might have been from Alnitak (given their radial nature) but it seems strange given how far out of the field it was. I cropped some of it out and covered up the rest as best as I could.
Anyway I hope you like them for what they are.

Good to hear you are somewhat setup again Pete and rather nice quick and dirty wider field work there too, always good to get back in the saddle after a break. I too have never imaged the Pleiades...one day.

Where have you moved too?

Mike

Thanks Mike - we moved back to our old address (Sydney's inner-west) but not into the old house.
We did a knock-down-rebuild and have been seemingly on the point of moving in for months on end.
Nice to finally settle in although we've plenty to do - driveway, landscaping etc.

Thanks Rick! Hopefully some not so quick and far less dirty images to come with the new scope.

Thanks Marc!

Yep always feels good to be out imaging even if not doing anything all that special. I'm excited by the new scope and it should motivate me to get out under dark skies more often.
