We have new distances to the planetary nebulae from the Gaia spacecraft.
The closest PN are
A35, 408 light yrs
NGC7293 Helix, 655 light yrs
PHL932, 1014 light yrs
M27, 1227 light yrs
A28, 1264 light yrs
NGC1360, 1278 light yrs

PL932 is not a PN according to David J. Frew (https://arxiv.org/search/astro-ph?searchtype=author&query=Frew%2C+D+J), Greg J. Madsen (https://arxiv.org/search/astro-ph?searchtype=author&query=Madsen%2C+G+J), Simon J. O'Toole (https://arxiv.org/search/astro-ph?searchtype=author&query=O%27Toole%2C+S+J), Quentin A. The attached file gives the distances to 144 PN using the data from Gaia.
I looked at images of all the PN and selected the larger ones.

The data given is Name, Dist in lt yrs, G mag of central star, RA hrs, dec deg, PNG
It is sorted by RA.

Hi Glen,

Thanks mate -- determining accurate distances to PNe has been a bug-bear afflicting astrophysicists for decades. Glad to see it is now being resolved somewhat.

Best,

L.
