New M42, Horse and flame, and Eta

Hi all,
Just love this new scope.
It was pretty clear on friday night so a good night for imaging.
The moon was up during the Orion shots but set for Eta
Still having trouble witb processing but maybe im trying to squeeze something out of nothing and just getting noise.
I probably need more subs and then i can stretch more more within getting that washed out look.

All images
20 x 120 seconds
Darks, flats, and bias applied
ISO 800
Canon 450d modded
Skywatcher BD 150mm

Stacked in DSS
Processed in Photshop

(M42 had a 15 second stack blended in from the week before to help with thie core)

Now i read what i wrote the images were only 40 minutes each.
No wonder i cant get faint detail without noise.

Thanks Carl, Anthony, and Rick for the encouragement.
Its been such a steep learning curve but its all starting to make sense and starting to get results.
I still have to get my head around drift alignment to get longer subs.
I only lined up the pole in my guide scope for these images but next time I'll try DARV..
Ive got an Imaging Source DBK camera i might use as a guide camera but i think ill wait a bit.

Was playing around with Snapseed on my tablet and found a button called HDR scape. One click and a totally different image just popped out.
Its a bit grainy but its where im trying to get.
I have only tried it the compressed jpeg version.
Now i have to learn what HDR means and if i can do the same thing in photoshop.

I think it means high dynamic range, which M42 certainly has.

Sure does work. Now you can get subs of different lengths and do some HDR processing. The fun begins!
