My sister's family did a LOTR tour of NZ, saw Mordor etc. I don't know if they saw Edoras. However the highlight was going to Hobbiton at night and enjoying (or enduring;)) a 'feast fit for a Hobbit'. They deliberately didn't eat much during the day and were unable to each much for a couple of days afterwards. As my niece commented 'we weren't eating salads that night'.
