Taken between clouds during first usable night in 9 weeks.
Yongnuo 100mm f/2 at f/2, 8x 40 secs @ ISO 1600. I wanted to see how good/bad this cheap lens was wide open. It does a good job with normal
photography, with good bokeh.
Sorry about being centred low, was in a hurry. Best at 75% screen.

For a cheap lens at F/2 it looks to perform pretty darn good. Nice shot

That looks terrific Raymo.
Especially for a hurried 5 min exposure.

Great capture Raymo.
I had to look hard to find any oval stars ...a few on the right. But that is hardly a worry and you have to blow it up to notice.
You must be very happy.

Thanks Gavin, Colin, Andrew, and Alex. The PA was rough and ready Alex,
should have settled on 30 sec subs.

Nice one Raymo, good to see you back shooting again. 40 seconds with a 100mm lens on a Nano Tracker is pretty good, so your polar alignment was obviously close. I'd say that's a pretty handy lens to use for astrophotography. Now go and attack that Witch!!

Well if that was hurried I would like to see one at a more moderate state.

Nice going Ramyo

Thanks Michael and Leon; that was the first usable night in 9 weeks, and
the next week or so seems to be its usual awful self, so goodness knows when I'll get the chance to do a better job of it.

Lens seems to be very good..

Coul you try it af f/3.5 or higher? Can you post 100% scale crops from corners of the frame?

Thanks Dunk.
Bojan, I don't know when my next chance to do what you ask will be, as there is currently a bright overhead moon, the weather here is extremely
unpredictable, and also I am my wife's carer, so free time is at a premium.
I'll see what I can manage.

That's excellent for such a short integration. Well done, Raymo!

Thanks Rick, I was pleased with the result from my LP stricken backyard.
The LMC is directly above a streetlight about 25 metres from my camera,
although the light itself is partially obscured by a tree.
