I am after a 30-32mm ~70 degree 2 inch eyepiece for use in a 8in dob 1200mm focal length (f5.9).
It will be used mainly as a finder piece and viewing some larger DSO.

I do not have a massive budget so I am considering the.

Andrews has
30mm - GSO superview- $89 AUD
32mm - SWA 70 bosma (orion/agena/etc clone) $99 AUD

and ozscopes has
32mm Skywatcher 70 deg long eye relief on sale for $169 AUD

The skywatcher price is reduced a lot and seems a good deal, but the reviews online are not very favourable and say it performs similar to cheaper eyepieces (the 22mm is reported to be much better) and this is really more than I want to spend.

I know the performance from these pieces will not be perfect in my scope but that is ok with me as I can not afford the more expensive eyepieces.

Does anyone have any of these pieces and a similar scope?

Hi Kris, a vendor posted a comprehensive 2018 list of eyepieces on cloudynights. If you're a bit familiar with Excel you can sort and filter on 2", mm, price.
Maybe you'll find some alternatives and search for reviews? Some eyepieces can be found on ebay under different or no brand names, sold by Chinese sellers for real cheap. For those, as well, you could find reviews as not all "similar" looking models are same quality as their Western branded models.

Sorry, I have no experience on the ones you mention.

Kris if you want something reasonable on a budget that will suit an f/6 newtonian like yours, stick to Plossls. Plenty to choose from, but the field of view is inevitably modest. The SWA and GSO ones under $100... they are OK in a scope at f/10 or longer - but not good at f/6.

To do significantly better than plossls requires something with green letters on it and that will cost well into 3 digits even secondhand.

To be honest theres not a lot wrong with an f/6 dob with a good mirror and a box of Plossls.

It's been a while since I used it, but I've got the 30mm GSO superview. For under $100 I found it a pretty reasonable performer in my 8" dob. If you're using it primarily for finding/larger DSOs, then any possible shortcomings towards the edge of field may not be such an issue for you.

I've got the 30mm GSO as well. It's good value for the price but don't expect too much.

I you buy the 30mm GSO and 2 inch barlow from GSO, screw the barlow lens into the eyepiece and you have a 20mm with better edge correction, and the whole barlow to get 15mm with even better edge correction.
