Hi all, just thought i would let others know of the email that was sent to me this morning.

It was plain as day a scam email, but just a reminder to other users not to click on any link sent from paypal, or banks etc,

It must be so easy for these crooks at times.

Dear valuedPayPalmember :

Me too h0ughy. They are a real pain.

If anyone receives an email from paypal it will always be addressed to you with your first and last name. Spams are addressed to valued member/value customer etc.

As Trevor says DON'T CLICK ON ANY LINK IN THESE SPAMS!!! If you want to check and change your details type in the paypal url in your address bar.

If you get one of these things forward it to spoof@paypal.com.au and get them to deal with it.

The same goes for banks. They should use your name, not "Dear Valued Customer" . Forward it on to your banks security dept.

I hope they can be traced.

I usually find spam increases when I join a new mailing list or forum. Depending on my activity in the list, the spam quickly drops off. I usually give my Yahoo account as my email address. The Yahoo anti spam software does a pretty good job of separating the wheat from the chaff.

As I don't run any Microsoft operating system, the contents of the spam wont cause any damage to my system. They're still annoying though.

Yeah, not a good idea to allow spaceweather to give out your email address.
I always tick "no" so they won't display it.
