Hi,
not sure whether to put this here or in the ATM section, but since I'll be using it for imaging thought here would be OK.

I'm currently building a motorised focuser rotator for my Esprit 100mm. The inspiration came from this web site:

http://www.scopefocus.info/home/rotator

The software is Ascom compatible, free, and the electronics are Arduino.

Cost so far:
$225 for secondhand Tak CAA (thanks LewisM)
$50 for the stepper
already had the Arduino stuff, but say about $12
$65 for aluminium - had to buy billets as tubing is not available in required size
A few cents for 3d print materials for a ring gear
$20 for timing belts and pulleys for the motor

Also have to buy lunch for my machinist friend who did the work making adapters (scopey - Les)

At this stage the adapters are made, electronics builtt and tested. Ring gear fitted. Currently waiting for timing pulleys/belt to arrive from Banggood.

Kevin, the designer and web page owner is a terrifically helpful guy. After finishing the adapters, I contacted him yesterday requesting a different ring gear size. He had it done and the stl file in my mailbox in a couple of hours.

If there is any interest, I'll provide adapter details and follow up pics on completion after the pulleys arrive.

cheers
Gary
