i should be there.. weather permitting.
if it's alright i'll be bringing a friend and his wife along.. he's a mad astronomer, but been out of the game for several years. he doesn't have his own telescope, but i'm sure if it's like my first experience out there he'll be looking through everyone elses scopes more than my own :)

I am a fair chance to make it up Ron - so long as work doesn't get in the way. Will be able to confirm next week.

Odlaw - I have Lumicon UHC, Astronomiks OIII in 1.25" format and a DGM NPB (UHC like) and Sirius Optics NEB1 in the 2" format.

Ron it seems my roster has won out after all - I'm down for overnight shifts across the weekend and the only person with whom I can usually swap is away himself for 4 days.

I'll be in touch again beforehand Ron but are you likely to be home the following Monday afternoon / night, and moreover do you think you might be up for some obseving company again then? I realise that might make 3 nights in a row for you so if it doesn't suit please say so - I have broad shoulders, I can handle it. :-)

Nightshift: Dennis is that you?? Glad to see you around again, such a shame I can't make Saturday and catch up with you!

Likewise Wes, Dave (Odlaw) etc. I am definitely in for next month again however, so maybe I'll see you guys then!

i'll still be there, weather permitting.

my friend and his wife can't make it. ironically she started work about a week ago and someone/somehow broke her foot. so Shane has to stay home and look after his wife.

hmm. maybe i'll bring a chair this time :P

Hope to see you then. Cheers.

Hey Ron,

If it's no good for tomorrow, what about next saturday the 24th? The new moon will only be a thin waxing and should set early (I am at work and dont have access to a chart so dont know exact times) so it could still be a good evening. What are your thoughts on this? If you are happy maybe everyone could re-schedule if possible and still make a good night of it?

Dennis.

astroron
16-02-2007, 12:00 PM
:hi: Dennis, the Moon is First Quarter on the 24th, and sets at 23:00 , but will set about a quarter of an hour earlier here, What do you think?::thumbsup:

Odlaw

The weather is not looking good for this weekend.... Maybe the 24th would be a better option for us all?

I think I will be out of the running for this weekend :( Both work and the dodgey weather.

I will be heading out to Leyburn next month and will be meeting up with the IIS guys from around Casino who are tripping up. Since Ron's it out, perhaps some of you might be interested in coming out there. I will post a seperate thread about this at a later date, but something to think about.

I can't believe I haven't been on Iceinspace for a week and I just remebered that Cambroon was on tomorrow. So I'll be there weather permitting. :prey:

I wouldn't write off the weather just yet - there is still hope that the clouds will partly clear for tomorrow night.

and a mini-Astrofest in March at Leyburn sounds good....

I'm under pressure to make a decision for tonight and given it's raining here at the moment, I'm going to chicken out... I'll have to catch up with you all another time... good luck!

not sure how many people went up there. but i was playing golf at north lakes from 3 - 6 and as we were leaving it was raining north of Redcliffe.

if it was fine now i'd prob still head up.. but it's still overcast and miserable outside :(
