Hello all my iceinspace friends long time no talk. I just got this tripod from a garage sale it’s a Hoffmann BSG-680 for only $10 I think a bargain. Does anyone know anything about it I can’t find it online?

It certainly has been a long time, could hardly remember you, about the tripod no idea but for ten bucks dose it really matter. :shrug:

hey :) with the metal nuts it looks as sturdy like a geological survey or construction tripod or something. And apart from the logo the design isn't appealing to artist's eyes, i.e. not to photographers' eyes.

There's a Hoffmann company manufacturing all sorts of tools, nowadays a "Hoffmann Group (https://www.hoffmann-group.com/US/en/hus/)" with many incorporated manufacturing companies. Maybe the original Hoffmann factory lineup contained measurement tripods, too.

Thanks and hi I bought it from a professional photographer returning to the USA his photos were stunning too. I think it is more than steady enough for a polarie and the camera I was thrilled

I would be thrilled.
How much would you have to pay retail for such a unit.
I purchased a cheap tripod for $60 and was just so happy but it is a wimp compared to your score.
So get organised and take something.
