First light for my new-to-me fluorite Tak FSQ-106. All the usual accomplices except the scope, and all done in the usual hellishly bad LP spot. Hand focused, even though it came with an autofocus kit (I am too stubborn and old school )

I always shoot 10 min subs. Tonight I thought let's shoot 6 minute subs to see if it helps mitigating the LP. I don't think it does...so back to 10 min subs from now on. Grumble grumble

Only got in 1hr before the horrid floating sheep obscured everything and the atmosphere was more unstable than the Australian Government but at least I got to test the scope. VERY pleased with the scope, not so pleased with my subs-planning lol. I think 1hr worth of 10 min subs would have been less speckled hen than this mess of 6 min subs

I keep telling myself it was only a test - it was but GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Spectacularly bad.

La queue du cochon. Little noisy but more data will make it great again as Trump would say.

Gee Whiz! Shows what a great scope and a dedicated driver can do :)

Yup, I had a screw loose alright. Kept thinking WHY is it so noisy...

Well...ahem...errr....ever taken bias frames with the light box still on? No? Go on, admit it...

OK, I did a repro WITHOUT Bias (so the flats are carpy now), and it is 1000000X better.

I'll upload the degoof later.

Meanwhile, I'll go slap myself silly again.

Very nice stars to the corners and a decent result for such short integration, in particular when considering application of newly invented light-bias frames
