Hello all,

I've been holding on to this for a couple of weeks not sure what to make of it. I came to the conclusion I should just ask.

A couple of weeks ago I was taking subs of the Lagoon Nebula. As always, once I'd collected my subs, I was going through them throwing out the ones with various tracking issues. A few dozen subs in, I noticed a small black spot moving across my subs. I had already deleted one or two but I scrolled back and saw it moving left to right. I continued to scroll forward and noticed it change direction and move upwards. Just before it reached the nebula in the frame, it turned right, went around the nebula then continued up and towards the left.

In total it took about 8 mins to do the lap of my frame. I have no idea what it was ? The non lineal motion cancels out most explanations and the 8 min time frame cancels out some more.

I'm sure with the combined thousands of hours we are all looking up stairs, I'm not the only one who has captured something strange.

Any suggestions ? And what else have people caught with our equipment ?

A very small insect crawling around in the camera?

Certainly the most logical explanation and the only terrestrial one I could think of. That's one lazy bug though taking 8 mins to travel in total about 50mm lol.
Also it would have to be tiny. When it's blown up on the screen, it's about 5mm in diameter. To scale I couldn't see it being bigger than about 1/4 mm. Still..... It's the most likely ......
