View Full Version here: : H Alpha images with full Moon

Did some imaging last night with a H Alpha filter with a near full Moon.
1. Carina area
Details Canon 5DH, Canon 300mmF2.8L at F2.8, Astronomic 10nm H Alpha filter, 3x20min at an ISO of 200.

2. Centaurus just below Crux. The red area in the colour image below.
Details 6x20min rest same as above

This data can replace (or add)the red channel in a colour image to get really faint nebulae to be imaged.
It is really nice to be able to image and not worry about the Moon interfering.

wow, they remind me of UK Schmidt places when I visited the UK Schmidt telescope at Siding Springs back in the late 80's. Well done Bert.
I love my 8mbit net connection the big pics came up in a fraction of a second :)

Very nice Bert - quite stunning images especially with the Moon present. Quite a performer that Canon lens, and wide open too, notwithstanding the operator expertise!
