Saw Harrison Ford play the part in the 90's
But this one has been updated is great viewing.

I've watched a few episodes. It's ok but lacks the character depth of Homeland.

Yeah, I quite enjoyed it. Certainly not the worst show out there, and if you enjoy the Tom Clancy novels, all the better.

I agree. The Ryan actor doesn't sell the role for me and at times seems out of character for the plot. Am most of the way through the first season and still just bobs along, no big hook moment yet, a lot of cliches too. will see how season ends.

Maybe you should check out Condor.
Based on the Days of the Condor books but again brought up to date.
Very much a lower budget production but currently steaming on STAN.

A new Get Shorty series is about too. Darker but still entertaining. Don't think it's streaming in Oz though.

Counterpart on SBS is a very good Spy/SciFi/thriller.

Counterpart is a year or more old but it looks like there's a season 2 coming in the new year.
