Anyone still using the older EM200 USDII mount and powering it with 24V? I note that when slewing the mount in RA the mount will move without issue in one direction but when reversing the motor ramps up but then cuts out. This happens when the counter-weight shaft is in the 6 o'clock position. Anyone come across this problem before?
Can you even get replacement motors for these older mounts anymore?
I guess I could take it to the scrap metal place...might get some cash on the mount head.

Think I recall Takahashi a while back had a notification on their website that the source for older mount motors (pre-Temma m) had ceased and where no longer available.
There are these options though......
Astro electronic replacement motors plus FS2 controller

Thanks Beren. The SS-One KODO looks a very interesting and affordable option.

Hans check the SS-one message board, saw one message about a problem with installing on a EM-10, the system probably going through the maturity stage but seem of the retail stores seem to be picking it up like OPT and Hutech....

I'm following this thread with interest. I have an EM200 Temma 2 Jr. Motors are fine, so not having issues like Hans above, but interested in these alternatives to the Temma. I've always been frustrated that you have to sync first because the mount doesn't know where it's pointing (no encoders on shafts?). Does anyone know if you can add encoders to shafts to include this kind of functionality?
