While I wasn't fortunate enough to view the splendid display of the comet during the last few weeks due to a series of events, I did happen to add to my "astronomical family."
While in Tokyo, I came across an area in Japan called "electric town." Walked into an electronics department store with 7 levels of anything electronic. Made my way to the digital SLR area and was gobsmacked:eyepop: with the amount of cameras they had. Now, I have been after a secondhand 350D for quite a while now but came across the Rebel XTi (or conventionally known as the 400D here). The price with standard lens ~99,000 yen but with my passport, it went down to ~95000 yen (or ~AUS$1,000). While only the lens is covered under an international warranty, I belived that the savings I made was worth the risk of purchasing an overseas model.
