NGC 253 hybrid

Hi all,

This is combined data from a SkyWatcher Esprit 100ED with ASI1600MM-Pro camera (my backyard) and a Planewave CDK 431mm with FLI Proline 16803 camera (Siding Spring via iTelescope.net). The CDK data is as yet incomplete as I haven't been able to log on to complete green and blue runs. So far this is:

Esprit 100ED + ZWO ASI1600mm-Pro

L 26x 120s
R 12x 120s
G 12x 120s
B 12x 120s


CDK 431mm + FLI Proline 16803

L 20x 120s
R 10x 120s
G 8x 120s


I wasn't sure how the combine would go with the Skywatcher images at 1.409 arcsec/pixel and the Planewave images at 0.643 arcsec/pixel. It seems to have worked though taking advantage of the spatial resolution of the Planewave combined with the contrast and colour of the Esprit.

Great image. The hybrid worked very well.

Very nice. The luminance has all the detail so the colour is less important in that regard.

Thank Greg, I've paid for the time so I'll complete the subs on the Planewave but you're right, it probably won't add much to get the rest of the colour. This was an experiment to see if combining the data from the two scopes would work. I'm pretty happy with it and might find some more targets to try again.
