Hi, My SkyWatcher 10" Dobsonian GOTO arrived yesterday, spent this morning putting it together.
I just have a question regarding one of the steps in the instruction manual that seams a little odd to me.
On my manual, page 9, it talks about Primary Mirror Installation.
Now i am not sure why it is mentioned as i had a look and mine is definitely there, mounted in the bottom of the tube as i am guessing where it should be and not packaged separately in the box somewhere.
Dose anyone who has one of these or just recently put one together know what they are saying is this step?
I kind of just ignored it for now until i could find some answers.
But i have gone through the process of collimating the primary and secondary mirrors.

Any information on this step ( page 9, Primary Mirror Installation ) would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Peter,

This is because the 14" and 16" mirrors are shipped separately from the tube assembly,. The instructions are designed for a wide range of aperture models, but I can see how confusion can happen when this is not explicitly mentioned.

I had exactly the same issues.

All came clear once I had it up and running.

Yes, first time actually using one of these telescopes.
Was interesting lining up the finder scope, I realise the image was going to be upside down, but when looking through the eye piece the image was sort of on a 45 degree angle,
I thought it might of been the same as the finder scope in that it would be upside down also.
I am guessing that the image being at 45 degrees is normal, thinking it has something to do with the secondary mirror being 45 degrees.

I think you could be b right on the 45 degree view.

But I think the image is mirrored rather than flipped. I guess it all is dependant on exactly what position you stand when viewing.
