The Mak lives ! 40% of 1000 frames through the 120mc. Autostakkert and Registax for wavelets. Now I'm happy

What size Mak?

Only 1000 frames, I usually take between 3000 and 5000, but you seem to have pulled out nice detail with 400 of 1000.

good work Brent that new mak is working out for you. I had mine out Sunday night but have not as yet processed my data. also balance on the evo is very hard with the stock dovetail. Have you tried RGB balance auto in Registax? might remove the green else check your debayer in AS and force the right one. I was getting green tinge whe I added the uvir filter and rgb balance in registax fixes it.

Found the RGB Autobalance button in Registax, thanks netwolf. See better results. Debayering seems unnecessary.

My dual scope setup seems to have almost perfect balance in both axis(sp?) on the mount, an unexpected result. I was expecting to have to do some tweaking but with the two 5kg gym weights and the single mount weight it stops and holds in any position. The Lunt is carrying the guide scope piggy back as well.
Spent yesterday paralleling the Mak and Lunt so now they point at the same target within a half minute or so. Useful now I can carry an EP on whatever scope is not imaging.
The 120mc is good for planetary stuff but longer testing imaging reveals a lot of hot pixels. May still give it a run on a few of the brighter nebulae just for fun but the 1600mm-c will be the primary camera.

Looks good but I reckon they could be upsampled a bit. A bit small on my monitor. :)

In TIF they are 500kb, in jpeg they became about 5 kb when I shrunk them to fit the IIS requirements. Not sure why they shrunk so much, lots of black sky maybe ?
ASI 120mc is 1280x 960 @ 3.75 pixel size, Mak is f15.

A great result Brent. Is that the Mak that recently went on TM? Not a bad unit at all. A bit of black sky is alright too, good framing. Prefer this over images where the target fills the whole screen but is blurry as heck.

Hi Mirko, yes it was the TM one. No bids were lodged on it till the day before finish so I just grabbed it on Buy Now. I've missed out on a few in the past because I hesitated but not this time.
Very happy with it, other than a few OTA scuffs it's in excellent condition. Only modification I have done is made a slip-on big wheel to go on the focuser knob to give finer control, it is quite tetchy in that area. I've also been able to fit my 2" flip mirror into the optical train. Nice to be able to confirm the target and alignment before I run the cameras. I can fit either the ASI 120mc or the 1600mm-c as required.
Now mounted side by side with the Lunt F7 with it's piggy backed guide scope. Balanced out extremely well on the EQ6.

Yes, it's a bit of a balancing act between resolution and size sometimes. I think the Jupiter image also shows Io, maybe not visible in the web version. On a later image I have both Io and Callisto in the frame. I'm actually surprised with the Saturn image. Wavelets is very clever, I'll capture more frames next time, 5000 someone recommended to get better resolution.
