I've tried Mars a couple of times this season but the sky has been bad whenever I have gone out with my C6SCT. So I tried an IR Pass filter and I think I'm pretty happy with the result. I really wonder what this filter could do with a scope with decent aperture.
Gear: Celestron 6inch SCT, GSO 2.5x Barlow, Astronomic IR Pass 742 Filter and ZWO ASI120MM.
Very interesting, it looks like it has some continents. It would be cool to try it with a bigger scope.

Good idea! Really cuts through the dust. I was wondering if that might help so I may just give that a go now.

I took a punt with the 742 filter. There is also a 642 filter which might have been a better match with my scope but definately the 742 for your 11 inch scope. Better contrast with the 742.
