Currently regretting sinking nearly $400 in to pixinsight after a day of trying to get stacking to work on it. I may have to talk someones ear off at astrofest next month!
Used good ol' DSS, PS, LR combo for processing. Taken from Moogerah Dam astroanarchy star party last night at FREEZING temperatures.
I need to get in to the habit of refocusing the blue filter as the ED127 has a bit of CA that needs adjusting for blue filters to reduce bloated stars.
29x 300sec L
20x 180sec R
9x 180sec G
9x 180sec B
After I finished the R filter, I remembered that the RGB is not too reliant in number of subs so reduced it to 9 frames for the G and B.
Someone take me under their wings and teach me the ways of PI!

Not bad at all. RE: PI that's probably the best $400 you've spent. Give it time.

Hi Tony
That looks good, I haven't had a chance to look at what I took the other night. It was well below zero on my way home, managed to miss the 6' of roo that was sitting on the road just down from the gate. Obviously trying to get warm from the bitumen.

That looks fine. A bit of magenta in the brighter stars that could be removed but overall its a decent image.
PI has some powerful tools. Perhaps approach it bit by bit. Use it for calibration of images and perhaps the DBE tool etc. Then add to it as you gain familiarity.

Looks great, a beautiful part of the sky near the Lagoon/Triffid.

Looks decent but I'm sure you can do better with PI  I'm doing a couple of PI show & tell sessions on the last Thu and Fri at Astrofest and will be around starting earlier that week. I'd be happy to help.
Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks rick! i'll be there from Thursday onwards hopefully. Had to move it back a night due to work schedule. Just look for the confused asian fella scratching his head with pixinsight open in the cafeteria around Friday morning :P

I have just got PI as well. I'm sticking with stacking in Deep Sky Stacker for the time being as it still does a great job.
Stacking in PI is too complicated in my opinion. You might find it easier to stack in DSS and focus on just the processing in PI for now.

Are you using the BatchPreprocessing script? It's complicated if you do all the calibration steps manually but the script makes it pretty simple.
Tony: I'm heading up to Astrofest tomorrow (Tuesday.) Hope to see you later in the week.
Cheers,
Rick.

It's looking good Tony, refocusing between all filters can help tightening up the stars as there is usually some focus shift between each one :)
