Great well composed wide field Greg:thumbsup:.... no dithering here mate?or is there some registration prob with the color channels?

I knew I may've made a mistake with the O111 data. I didn't register it early on and I think I relied on Photoshop's auto align feature which is not that great.
OK fixed it now, same link. Thanks for spotting it, I did not look at it critically enough.
A new setup so feeling it out for optimum settings and procedures.

lovely vista Greg.
This short focal length imaging makes for easier data capture than the close up stuff hey!

Ok maybe I have missed it ...but what scope/lens took this?
The colour version is ok too but I quite like the Ha only version.

Pentax 645 300mm EDIF F4. Its got 2 ED elements. At one stage in the past they were worth US$4500, not now of course.
I quite like it but it does seem prone to reflections/flare. A poormans FSQ with reducer. I also have a 1.4X extender which will give F5.6 and 420mm focal length. I haven't tried that yet. Some objects lend themselves to extreme wide looks. It holds focus all night it seems so its very user friendly.

We're holding out for that SHO version. Judging by the H-alpha only, it is going to be gorgeous.

Aaaah ok I thought so...there was no indication under the image or in your post...that I could find..?
Mike
beautiful wide field ... it's not to wide to loose details, and it's not to narrow to see all the big stuff ...

Love the wide field and both images are very nice, but same as Mike, I prefer the mono version.

Thanks Suavi. I am still optimising how to use this setup. I think the RGB needs to be a bit more carefully acquired with a refocus for each RGB perhaps and a stopping down from F4. Narrowband stars are tight and so is Luminance but RGB could be tighter. Perhaps a stop down ring once I know the optimum.

Thanks Rick.
I optimised the system more since this was taken and have acquired more hours on it. So I'll be reworking it soon with the extra data. I might wait til the moon is out of the road and get some more data. We are having a longish dry spell down here with lots of clear nights.
