Alternatives to T2 threaded end caps?

I figure threaded bits of plastic should be dirt cheap, but the cheapest I can find is US$5 a pop at Agena astro.

Does anyone know of an alternative source, even if it's an ugly DIY job made from bits from bunnings?

I'd rather keep my filter wheel and powermates in the case configured for the job they're going to do rather than adding adapters simply so I can then add a lens cap to that.

Also if anyone know of a DIY 2" lens cap option, that'd be great. My GF's tampon tin lids come *so close, but not quite :-( (hey, it'll be dark, no-one will know!) :-)

I just use something that covers, held in place with blue-tak. Hardly beautiful, but works just fine.

I currently use an old 2" EP cap with some blue tak inside the rim to hold it on.
