yes i was watching the brightness / gamma /gain.
it seemed to change very suddenly over 1/2 hr.
this is still very nice image and very exciting as there are some great nights ahead.
I looked thru starry night and March will be an absolute feast for moon activity!!!

Hey that's not bad Anthony, great detail for the conditions. Did the Friday data turn out better than the Thursday?
Mike, I had a hard disk die while I was at teh camp - I lost the thursday night data, and most of my data from November 2006 onwards :-(.
Turns out it was the external usb enclosure that's faulty, not the drive, but it's too late now to recover the data, it got thoroughly scrubbed while I was trying to recover it. I think the drive was writing empty sectors :-(
Anyway, I think the friday night data was better...

ah what a bummer!
I'll process my Jupiter data today, maybe it will be ok. I'm doing my Thursday Saturn now, it's not bad.

Excellent image Anthony. Hope it looks as good when it starts rising over here in the UK.
