I am downsizing and need to let my wonderful 10" f5 Carbon Strut Newt go to another home. I built this scope during 2014 and it's construction is documented in this thread:

http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=126947&highlight=Carbon+Strut

I suggest you read through that thread and check out the photos (particularly in post #21). The scope is stored in a dry room in my house, on its upright stand (which is included in the sale). The mirrors used are from GSO, with the Primary sitting on a Starzonia designed cell. The focuser is a GSO Newt unit and has handled my imaging gear without any issues. As this Newt is setup for imaging, if used visually some EPs may require the use of a short (35mm) extension tube in the focuser (which I will include in the sale). The scope includes a Skywatcher X/Y Guidescope mount. Both the focuser and guidescope mount are attached to carbon fibre plates.
There is a Lycra shroud, which I made, but it is getting to where it should be replaced. The tube comes with a Vixen style dovetail.
I have attached some photos taken today, and again, review the Build Thread posted above. If you want some examples of images taken with this scope then have a look at:

https://www.astrobin.com/202361/
https://www.astrobin.com/253988/
https://www.astrobin.com/270259/

The scope is 1210mm long, and really needs to be tranported across a backseat of that width. This is a local pickup sale (at Lake Macquarie), although I could meet Sydney buyers half way if necessary. I cannot ship this scope, there is no box, although I do have a carry bg for it which is included in the sale.

I am asking $700 for this unique lightweight newt, a price significantly under its part out value of the focuser, mirror set, and guidescope mount. If your interested then PM me here at IIS.

Photos attached, and review the build photos please.

Hi,

What is the weight of this OTA?
Thanks
Stephen

Re the weight of the finished scope: for just the OTA (with mirrors, focuser, and all mounting brackets for the accessories) but without the finder scope(which I never use anyway), guidescope/camera , the weight was 11.6kg - this represents the carry weight to lug out to the mount. Well under the imaging capacity of the NEQ6 and similiar mounts.

How do you mount this?
I must have missed it in the photos

There is a Vixen dovetail, as shown in the build thread photos.
