Ngc 6188

My NGC 6188, taken at Lake Moogerah, ended up being a bit pinker than Chris’s. Basically suturated the existing colour so its kind of what was given to me. Ha 30 x 300s, RGB each 45 x 60s. Processed in StarTools without too much fuss. This is a first version of this and am keen to refine it so appreciate your thoughts, especially on colour and contrast which I struggle with.

Your colour looks really nice! It is supposed to be more pink than red :thumbsup:

Thanks for the nice comments :) Lots of luck involved at this point and plenty of stuff ups... 285 minutes of imaging that took at least twice as long :-/ Took an hour or two to work out that the laptop (85W charger), camera cooler and mount weren’t happy running of the same battery. Also a beautiful still night - didn’t lose a single sub so very lucky :-) Although still feeling guilty about the purchase of the nice mono camera and filters I am pleased with what a bog standard ED80 and HEQ5 can do with them.

that is a great result ben, excellent framing and processing - all you need to do now is add some O3 to get the shock wave from ngc 6164 :D

Ah! Thought I recognized your avatar! 3nm OIII is already on its way and I can’t wait!!! I was rapt to get the shock wave on the left and some of the bubbly bits above but didn’t get anything underneath and had to crop to align the RGB on the right to remove stacking artefacts. Was kind of happy how the core of 6164 came up, although I have no idea if it is real detail or just messy processing posing as something?
