Hi

Well, after yet another unsuccessful (7th) attempt to take a few wide angle photos of the comet, we were left with a gorgeous 2.2 day old Moon.

We chased a clear patch of skies out to Warrill View, some 70kms SW of Brisbane and set up at the Cunningham Lookout. By 6:30pm the skies had mostly cleared, except for a dark patch of clouds……yes, you’ve guessed it……just where the comet was estimated to be.:(

Oh well, there’s always the next one…

Cheers

Hi Ving

I used VMA (http://www.astrosurf.com/avl/UK_index.html) and set the data in the Ephemeris tab to the date and time (for Brisbane) and VMA displays the details. It was 1.23 days old, 1.9% illumination on Sat 20th January at 19:27 AEST as seen from Brisbane.

Cheers

Hey Dennis,
that second shot is a ripper. OK, shame about the clouds, but you get the idea. Nice work.
