Up late finally got auto guide to work but the camera control did not do what it was supposed to in so far as I told it to do 90 second exposures and it gave a variety of times for exposures...so although I did do some longer exposures I really have not got it all worked out.

I was adjusting the mount all over and finally in disgust lined it up by eye and it was seemingly most reasoanbale...all that time playing pool has paided off yet again:).

Thru the 8 inch f5 reflector on eq6 unguided ( the mount seemed great and was good by itself out to 3 minutes with no guiding.
Focusing was a pain as it seemed things were jumping about a little up there.

But the sky glow really did not allow long exposure.

The cube did its job shielding the street light but I will have to position the lap top outside as its glow causes problems.

The capture here was the old reliable 30 second frames at 1600 iso with about 130 light frames a little dithering 10 darks and 15 bias frames.
Played in photoshop and gimp to the point where I dont know any more:D
Anyways this is my result.

Thank you very much for your input and encouragement.
I processed this image on my phone by downloading the above image and playing with the sliders ..I was trying to bring out detail but I gotto ask how off is the colour.
I play for detail which I guess I may see differently..but in this colourisation I think I see it better than the first one because of different and maybe not appropriate colouring.

It looks really good but maybe you adjusted the hue towards the green end?

Yes I think so..probably because of how the colours work in a digital camera..the green blue and green red thing..that translates in my brain that maybe green holds detail...but it would be nice to know if that is the way it it.

I tried for the Prawn Nebula and sure it was in the field of view from my star chart but so far cant find it in my frames..maybe it there? ...and I was trying a sky glow filter and long exposures, the program exposing at many different time periods..And I wonder if the filter could remove the Nebula..still have to sort thru and stack something..but not a hint in a single frame.
Last night 4 am and looks like that again tonight☺

Hi Alex,

great capture, lagoon is nice and sharp good detail and good stars.

seems that you are struggling a little bit to align your R,G,B colour channels.

if using photoshop there is a quick and dirty way (Image tab, then -> auto colour).

Thanks Russ but honestly I am not struggling with the colours its only the people looking at my images who are not colour blind that struggle:P.

Kevin the focus is indeed perfect I just said I was having a hrad time getting it perfect...I would not bother imaging unless each time I produced a perfect result:D And thanks for looking and saying nice things.
