Still a lot of work needed to complete the image of IC2944, but I'm really pleased with the amount of detail in Thackeray's Globules.
Data from Martin Pugh's CDK17 and STXL-1102/AOX at Yass.
Cheers,
Rick.

Now, don't take this the WRONG way Rick, but Thackeray's always remind me of...whale poop :)
Seriously beautiful rendition of Whale Poop in Space though. Really impressive! Maybe Interstellar Chicken Poop?

Thanks, Steve. The full FOV needs work but should be a nice result in the end :)
I'm happy with poop, Lewis. Just so long as it is very detailed, colourful poop  I can see what you mean...

I do see Lewis's point Rick, maybe Cetus has drited past your camera.
Nice image.

An unusual and clever framing making an enjoyable image. Love the subtle swirling clouds of gas behind them.

Looks 3D to me, like the globules are floating underwater.

Perhaps it is ambergris, Geoff. We should go out there and mine it
Thanks, Greg.
Ta, Mike.

Lovely background image Rick, but it looks like there's lumps of dirt on the sensor

Thanks, Marcus!
I think we've determined that it's definitely whale poop and not just poor flat fielding, Andy

Do I get international accreditation for discovering the true nature of Thackeray's Turds...errr...globules? I mean, think of the fame and fortune.
No matter how you float it (GROAN), it's a lovely image.

Lovely work Rick, this has a real 3D feel to it.
The brightest stars appear to be on the top plane, the globs and dimmer stars floating in the middle with the wispy, dreamy background hues completing the picture.:)
Cheers
