This one started out as a series of diagnostic images to troubleshoot a camera problem I'm currently having. Given that I haven't imaged the Sombrero for a few years I thought I might as well make a complete colour version. The data is a bit thin and I made my usual mistake of burning the bright centre out more than necessary but at least it looks better than my last one.
Cheers
Steve

That looks very good, framing excepted. Stars are nice and tight and subtle colours and it looks like you got some good detail there.
I have yet to reprocess mine to get the colour without damaging the detail.

Thanks Greg. Actually I quite like it in that orientation if that's what you meant about the framing.

Not bad for a diagnostic image Steve ...I agree with Greg, to me M104 looks best sitting like a plate, so we are looking down into the depressed core, either straight horizontal or with a slight tilt.

Thanks Mike. I must admit that the orientation makes little difference to me but I'll think about changing it.

Looks ok for the amount of data you used Steve. More data in luminance would allow great detail in the dust lanes.

Thanks M&T. It certainly turned out okay for what started as just a diagnostic image.
