Want to share your love of Astronomy with the general public just like John Dobson?
We are looking to expand our monthly observing sessions both in location and participants.Just knowledge is fine but a scope is better and even better if you built it yourself! We currently go to Byron Bay or Brunswick Heads at 1st qtr moon and have lots of interest. Must be prepared for heaps of children and to answer some odd questions. Our aim is to have an "Astro Fest" some time in 2007 and already have a fantastic location.

Sounds like a bit of fun. You guy's are about and hour or so drive from me.
Do you advertise?

I'd be keen on an Astrofest on the north coast. We have started or are
trying to form a group in the Casino area.

Good luck, it great news to see more of this happening on the north coast.

Hi Marie & Philip, and welcome to our forum.

I come up to Byron every year for holidays sometime in the period September/ October. I would be very happy to come along and help if it co-incides with the time of year I am up your way. Sounds like a very worthwhile project you have running.

Thanks for the replies! Weather permitting we shall be at Brunswick Heads this Friday Jan 26th down at the Terrace (close to the road bridge) All welcome. If its cloudy we try again on Saturday, same place around 7.30pm. Will post some pics if succesful. Look out for the starry night white van.
