Omega 8 inch

Still busy on building my cube observatory but as tired as I was I had a go at Omega Cent last night and tried a differrent approach by going with 10 second frames and iso 200 in an effort to reduce star blow out.
70 lights, 20 darks, 20 flat and 20 bias and a tweek in gimp.Cropped a bit to help downsize:) Used 8 inch f5 and nikon unmodded d5500.
Also tried eta using high iso (3200) which worked ok.

This looks good, some blue and yellow stars appearing around the peripherals, the main glob looks tight, things are coming together for you,

Good one Alex.

Colour is a hard one to get right.
It's different for all of us I reckon.
Not only gain & exposure, but stretching, colour calibration, saturation just to mention a few.
Best to experiment and find out what works.

I wonder what the wiggly lines are in your image?
Someone will know.

I think the lines came from using "erode" which I used to make the stars smaller. It didnt seem too bad in the big image.
Near finished the roof of my cube observatory which is the most important thinnng to do so I can set up something permanent...the first on a long long list.
