Hey there.

Great forum you have here! I cannot believe I did not stumble upon this place years earlier. I have been a space.com regular since last millenium but never thought to look for an Aussie space forum....

Well anyway I love all things space and science. I have what is quite possibly the worst telescope in the southern hemisphere but my missus n kids bought it for me so I still drag it kicking and screaming out to the backyard from time to time.

My main gig is Motorcycle Racing (Superbike). It keeps me well poor, but I sure do love it.

Well I hope to get out to a viewing night one time and maybe bring the kids along, I am keen to see this comet but the damn clouds have so far contrived to keep it hidden from me.

Cheers,

Hemiduty.

Welcome to the forum Hemiduty.

Good to see another member from Brisvegas here.

There is a wealth of information here and Iceman has put a great forum together.

:hi: and :welcome: Hemiduty.

We try to have a monthly get together at Cambroon (near Kenilworth) every new moon, weather permitting. Keep an eye on the Calendar (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/calendar)or the Observing Sessions and Star Party forum (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16)and you will see when they come up. You will find a map to the site here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=8808).

Welcome to the forum Hemiduty, if you're used to forking out for racing expenses, even expensive astro gear will seem cheap. Feel free to post some pics of your bike, there are a few motorcycle enthusiasts amongst us (myself included).

Hi Hemiduty and welcome to the group.
You will enjoy it here with all the great people about.
I used to be a superbike punter as well but I'm well retired now. Surfers used to be one of my favourite tracks before it closed.
What type of scope do you have?

Cheers

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I will post some racing pics up soon, the avatar pic is too small to see any detail at all.

I never got to race at Surfers, or even Lakeside before it shut down.

Kenilworth is not too far from Brisbane northside, so I will definitely make the trip up there when I can swing it. I get out that way every now and then on the roadbike, but for an observing meet I will bring the kids and that means driving up in a slow old car lol. Ah the things ya do.....

My scope (if you can call it that) is a very small refractor, like 3 or 4 inches, I think it is called a Bushmaster of all things. So yeah, one day a better scope will be called for.
