Lovely framing. New and enticing and different. I can see the trails of which you speak, but the darkest third at the top is a cross between a chess knight and the Loch Ness monster.

Somewhat eggy stars and the dynamic range looks a little compressed.

Peter I've been having terrible problems with guiding and ironing out any looseness issues in my setup. I had to put in extra felt for my custom steel rings, now I'm wondering if high density rubber will do the trick. I'm also worried it could be a mount fault. I've had it out, under tarps for a few weeks, subject to heat from the day. Could that do damage? The MyTs are pretty hardy I hear. But could the grease need replacing? When I wiggle the OTA around I can feel some movement, possibly vertical thru the mount/balance shaft.

I use sharpcap to polar align to an "excellent" level. Starting to get frustrated!

I'll be doing more trouble shooting this week. Hence the bad weather!

My RA guiding graph is very poor compared to my old tak setup. Anyone know what that might be caused by? I will be trying to make sure my scope is east balanced, but I guess that's Dec related?

Don't think I have seen this one before. Aside from the star shapes it looks pretty good to me. Amongst the galactic star field with that inky black of the dust.

The guiding is most likely your min and max settings. CCDware of a guide calculator which will help get you the best settings. Then you just need to tinker from there.

I remember one windy night, I had to set the max movement to maximum as the star would drift way off and be lost. Probably shouldn't have imaged at all that night
