I've had a few tries imaging Jupiter in the early hours through the refractor while my C11 lies unused in the back room. Quite a lot of detail for a smallish scope. I need to brush up on my processing skills though. 5.30am CST. The seeing was reasonable but tends to become more unsettled as dawn approaches.

3x barlow plus a small spacer between barlow and camera gave about f/30

Nice image Graeme. Plenty of detail all the way up to the polar regions. Its nice to see refractor planetary images in the mix. What size refractor did you use?

175mm. Big for a refractor. Small compared to the SCT images.

Get that C11 out Graeme. Stop playing around with that AP tube.:P

Not bad for the aperture. Seems criminal to use the 175 for planetary imaging.
