Well, comet McNaught is behind these clouds somewhere...:)
Couldn't see the comet so took some happy snaps of the sunset anyway. I played about with high dynamic range processing, but to be honest I don't think HDR does sunsets justice... or maybe I'm not pushing the dynamic range enough perhaps???? I was working in the range 0 to -2 stops/EV, and up to +2 to -2 stops/EV...
Anyhoo, heres a couple to look at...
The first is HDR processed from 4 photos taken at F8: 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200 sec. Converted from raw to JPG, HD merged, reduced to 8 bit, shadows and highlights, cropped and saved for the web in PS CS2.
The second is a single shot, F8, 1/80 sec. Converted to Jpeg, reduced to 8 bit, shadows and highlights, and saved for the web in PS CS2.
