View Full Version here: : Astronomy group activates
I’m interested to know what activates apart from observing with liked minded astronomers; people take part in your Astronomy groups and what happens at meetings? (Presentations, talks, video, etc). The reason I would like to know is we have had a small group going for a few years now and as far as I know none of our group has ever been involved with any other established Astronomy groups. We are looking into holding regular meetings soon and I would appreciate any help.

Mick the Astronomical society of WA has one monthly meeting where minutes are taken ,activites are disscussed and usally a guest speaker presents a talk . Before the meeting theres a one hour tution on scopes , astronomy facts etc . Theres also a less formal meeting a month called a club night where everyone gets together and mixes . Theres two dark sky nights a month plus a lunar observing night and a night at a observatory at a uni campus { this used to be the HQ for the Murdoch astronomical society before it and ASWA joined }. Also theres i think 2 astro camps , the Swan star party and Astrofest the society is involved with . Oh and a bi-monthly mag is sent out to members covering meeetings ,events etc.
